Kevin Ray 04:17, 2 November 2006 (UTC) If it improves into GA-level by January it can be selected here. (Note that it's on the Did you know section, right now.) --Howard the Duck 06:18, 2 November 2006 (UTC) I would like to nominate Philippine Airlines to become a Featured article. A lot of work has gone into the Article. Thanks tomauer (talk) 11:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC) I would like to nominate Dagami, Leyte to become a featured article. Unlike other articles on the municipalities of Leyte, this has a lot more info and has quite improved as an article over the last few months. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevenphil (talk • contribs) 18:52, 26 January 2011 (UTC) Candidates for Selected picture to be featured at the Portal page

I've changed into the leaning bellfry at Bacarra, Ilocos Norte. --Howard the Duck 09:23, 28 September 2006 (UTC) Candidates for Selected biography to be featured at the Portal page I've changed the selected biography to Andrew Gonzalez. But on second thought, I think Epifanio de los Santos would be appropriate. What do you think? --Mithril Cloud 16:14, 1 December 2006 (UTC) I think we should stick with Bro. Andrew. --Howard the Duck 14:19, 2 December 2006 (UTC) Do we have a free pic, though? --Howard the Duck 14:27, 2 December 2006 (UTC) For Brother Andrew? Nope. --Mithril Cloud 01:02, 3 December 2006 (UTC) Does he have a statue somewhere? --Howard the Duck 02:53, 3 December 2006 (UTC) None too. --Mithril Cloud 05:28, 3 December 2006 (UTC please include Gabriela Silang biography. Actually, in 1543 Ruy Lopez de Villalobos used the name "Las Islas Felipinas" in honor of Crown Prince Don Felipe, who would later become King Phillip II, on January 16, 1556. Ruy Lopez died before Don Felipe ascended to the Spanish throne. AKPinoy 21:51, 18 June 2007 (UTC)AKPinoy Other discussion Languages problem Well, I added in the Chavacano and Pangasinan Wikipedias to the Philippine-related Wikipedias section, but it seems that it got messed up for some unknown reason. Who can fix it? --Sky Harbor 22:03, 2 October 2006 (UTC) It looks fixed for me. --Howard the Duck 02:44, 3 October 2006 (UTC) Have you heard of Cheche Lazaro ? I encourage everybody to participate in this meeting. Please post your replies to Wikipedia talk:Meetup/Manila 2 --Exec8 06:00, 8 July 2007 (UTC) Barangay Putik Historical Background Long before the coming of the Spaniards to Zamboanga, the place has no name. And this is how Putik got its name….. At the time when the Spaniards occupied Zamboanga, they usually go around to see different places. One day, they met a tradesman who came from Luzon. The tradesman accompanied by the Spaniards went sight-seeing around the place. It was a rainy season that time and the soil seemed like clay, and so it was slippery. While they were walking, one of the Spaniards stumbled down. He suddenly stood up and asked the trader what was the name of the place. He answered “putik”, he meant muddy. That knowing the tradesman does not know Spanish. From that time and until now, they call this place as PUTIK. Distance from CITY PROPER: 4.65 Km.
