Gasoline prices climb in California and the nation

Costs at the pump are getting closer to record levels. The state's average over the last week for a gallon of regular gasoline is up 4.4 cents to $4.205. The U.S. has seen a 5.3-cent rise to $3.844. The relentless rise in retail gasoline prices continued over the last week, the U.S. Energy Department said, with some analysts predicting that fuel prices could test record highs.
